Rich Somalian immigrants?

It is typical of conflict zones for the wealthy to be the ones that manage to get out. Most of the Cubans fleeing Havana in 1959 were the rich and educated. Same goes for Iran in 1979 and Afghanistan in 1980. Not all Somalis are poor. The model Iman's family was very wealthy and fled when the government dissolved. So maybe you're just seeing the elite of Somalia, which is certainly better than having to pay to support the poor of that country the way we do our neighbor to the south.
