Who is your Saint if your name is Norma?

The Bible says that anybody who believes that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Saviour is a saint, the Catholic church has no authority under heaven to grant sainthood to anybody, only Jesus can do that. The pope is just a sinful man just like all the rest of us, so what makes them think that he is equal with God in the sense that he has any authority whatsoever to grant sainthood to anybody?
