What if planet earth was Hell?

I'm under the impression that this planet truly is Hell, if there is one. Sure, things could be worse, but you have to admit they could definitely be better. Why can't we stop shitting on this planet and make 'earth as it is in heaven'? Why does idiocy prevail in politics when the truth and solution is so simple? Is religion and superstition blocking the way to a better planet? What do you think?
