Nissan Murano used Car offer price need advice?

i found a used car from a private party it is 2006 Nissan Murano, base model S , 2WD and 45400 mileage and exterior silver. he is asking 17000. I checked sites like kbb etc..but need some expert input..Given the economy etc..how much can i offer for this car? ..he bought it as brand new...thanks for your advice.
